The Jordan Planetarium opens a window on planets, stars and the universe, bringing the cosmos to life in the twenty foot dome theater. The Jordan Observatory is Maine’s only public observatory, and is open for sky watchers of all ages to explore the wonders of the Maine sky.
Group fees are based on show attendance. Audiences with fewer than twenty-five persons will be charged a minimum fee of $75.00; More than 25 are charged $3 per person. Counts include all chaperones and teachers.
The Planetarium seats a maximum of 45 people for classical showings and 30 for OmniDome programs.
Larger groups can split into sections of less than 45 that attend separate showings. In such cases, one section may visit another site on the University of Maine campus while the other is in the Planetarium.
Visits can be planned through Jordan Planetarium's
online request form. Planetarium staff will make contact and settle the details for your visit. The Jordan Planetarium office can be contacted at (207)581-1341 for answers to any questions you have before making a reservation.
