
The Children's Museum of Maine serves as an indispensable resource for educators. In addition to inspiring discovery and imagination through exploration and play, the museum offers a variety of educator-led school programs.
Museum programs are available in two forms, self-guided and guided. Self-guided programs are $5 per person, and allow students and classes to explore the Children's Museum of Maine at their own pace. Guided programs cost $6 per person and are available for groups of up to 50 students. Guided programs are 30 minutes long. Teachers are advised to select up to two 30-minute programs or one 60-minute program for a visiting group.

- Ocean Open House
- Rock Riddles
- Simple Machines
- STARLAB
- Vertebrate Sleuthing
A Tide Pool Touch Tank is also available for groups of fewer than 30 students.
Guided programs are 30 minutes long. A maximum of two 30-minute programs are available to groups of 50 or fewer. A maximum of one 30-minute program is available to groups of more than 50.
Two-hour visits may be scheduled on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Friday, 9am-5pm or Thursday, Noon-5pm.
With a reservation at least 24 hours in advance, groups of 10 or more are eligible for group admission rates of $5 per person for a two-hour self-guided visit and $6 per person for a guided visit. One adult per 10 students is admitted free. Payment can be made on the day of the visit, and checks and purchase orders are accepted.
Note: Groups visiting between September 1 - October 31, 2007 or January 2 - February 28, 2008 receive $.50 off each admission.
